New computer, dead computer, lost my sprites! - July 18th, 2010, 12:54 pm

I got this awesome new quad-core Athlon with gigs upon gigs of ram and lots of memory! Unfortunately, as I was getting it working, my old computer sorta killed itself. It's just the power supply, so in theory nothing is permanently lost. However, my EVO sprites are all trapped on the now defunct computer, and will be for a little while.

So long story short, that's why the 1 a day thing fell apart so fast, and why there won't be any comics for a week or two.

Evo Classics 1-14 uploaded - January 21st, 2007, 1:25 am

I had started this site way back in April 2006 with the idea that I would do more EVO comics. I uploaded 3 I had made previously and intended on making more.

However, though I greatly enjoy EVO and the EVO antics, I've never really managed to get back into the mood to make more EVO comics. They're very harsh, abrasive, nasty comics. They worked well when I was in a bad mood, as EVO usually just shouted at people.

I'm a lot more mellow now. My life is pretty much exactly where I want it to be. I have work, and I have my hobbies, and I'm more-or-less content. Thus, my need to shout angrily at pixel-people has diminished somewhat.

Which is why, in 9 months, I haven't made a single EVO comic.

To compensate, though, I've decided to upload the original 14 comics I made for EVO, which were previously hosted on my old Comixa website. There's some others that I have done which were holiday-specific (christmas and halloween), but because they use a different picture size, I wasn't able to just C&P them into a template like I did with these. So they'll have to wait.

Anyways, I decided to put the EVO classics at the beginning of EVO, so if you click the "First Comic" button, you'll see them there.

Enjoy! :D

A New Evo - April 30th, 2006, 8:36 pm

From Joe:
When Jimmy announced to me that he found a new site to host our comics, I was indifferent to say the least. I had posted a few on my myspace account, and reposted them again on a message board, and both times I was less that pleased with the result. So, to get to the point, I gave up. I went to do other things (I'm writing a novel), and I sorta walked away from the comics.

So he posted our first set, that being 3 or 4 Guys in Color and 2 EVOs, and then sent me the links. And I'm here to say he was right. Doing these stupid webcomics is fun, and it's fun to have them somewhere that looks nice and takes little on our part (HTML wise). I saw the EVO and the Guys in Color yesterday, and immediately I wanted to do it again. I drew up the next Guys in Color within an hour of visiting the site (I think, I've been sick this weekend so time is both moving very quickly and very slowly). And this morning I drew up a few more. Not to be neglected, I went ahead and did a new EVO too.

We'll see where it goes from here. I'm still writing a novel, and that still takes precedence over the comics. But as long as Jimmy helps do the comics, I think it should be ok.

Alright, see ya all later.

EVO lives! - April 28th, 2006, 11:32 am

From Jimmy:
EVO is a crazy coffee drinking robot. I don't know why he's a crazy coffee drinking robot, nor do I care. He's offensive and rude and a little bit pathetic, but he's also cute (if you get past the 2-bit metallic exterior).

To be honest, this is more joe's comic than mine. you can tell by the fact that there's no random bits of sex and nudity thrown in, and also by the fact that the humor is based entirely on coffee, robots, and being mean.

As with our other comic, Guys in Color, this is V2 (V for Volume, or Version if you're more techie). V1 is hiding somewhere, on some now ugly comics site (called Comixa, if you must know. I thought of the name, and I still like it, but joe claims he doesn't have the time to run it and I know absoultely nothing about web-design, nor do I care to). I don't know if it'll ever see the light of day again.

Anyways, here's what exists for EVO. More should come, eventually.

Love ya.
